We wanted a house for a family with four boys aged under ten, that suited us not only right now but into the future when the kids become teenagers and adults. When we first started we had no idea of the process and really needed someone to direct us. John, with four boys himself, helped us to understand early on that making the house work internally was the key. Once we looked at the design, the flow of the house and the rooms the kids were going to use it all made complete sense. Ultimately, we went for the most radical design option, which was not at all what we expected, and certainly not something we could have ever come up with ourselves. The design and construction experience was seamless. We feel that the reason we didn’t have any problems was because of John’s advice to engage a builder early in the process, and the level of documentation John produced meant that nothing was left to chance. We love our home, in terms of the spaces there is nothing that we would change and there are lots of aspects of our house we would have never predicted.
